Tension between Apple and Google?

27 January 2010 No Comment

It’s a good news as well as bad news. Good news is Google released a version of its Google Voice for iPhone that would make it possible to make cheap calls using internet. Google had tried releasing a similar app earlier as well but then Apple had opposed the app and that also had created a big scenario earlier!

Earlier Apple had rejected Google’s app stating that it violated the terms as it replaced Apple’s core interface of calling, messaging with that of Google’s. But this time, what Google did was released a similar app that could do all these things from within a browser thereby not violating those terms but still providing the same services for cheap price. The earlier incident had resulted in resignation of Google’s CEO from Apple’s board. Now after this move of Google, tensions between two of them are definitely going to sour.

We had earlier reported about a problem between Apple and Google which resulted in Apple replacing Google with BingĀ  on their iPhone. This news confirms that there are surely problems between the two companies and Google voice created even more friction.

Microsoft sure must be happy seeing all this. As they say “One man’s loss is other man’s gain!”.
