Now Get Your Own Custom Facebook Username!

10 June 2009 One Comment

facebook

Facebook is now offering ‘Custom Usernames’ to each and every FB user. This means that now your profile will look like:

www.facebook.com/people/custom.username

instead of

www.facebook.com/uid=?749202….

However, there are certain things that you must keep in mind while choosing your username.

  • These usernames cannot be edited or changed ever, once you signed up for them.
  • They cannot be transferred in any case.
  • They will be displayed in your profile link and will stick to it permanently.
  • Once chosen, it’s final and will be permanent.
  • Usernames are on first come, first served basis. So you will have to rush before someone else chooses your favourite username!

facebookThe usernames will be allocated from Saturday, June 13th, at 9:31am. So make sure that you are available at that time to rush for your favorite permanent identity attached to facebook.

Of course, you cannot choose any trademarks as username as they would be cancelled later. Also, if you have any trademarks, you can notifiy facebook about the same before hand here. The usernames can be signed up here.

Short Apology: I wasn’t able to update the blog for almost 10 days as I was out of town and at a place that had no internet connection. Please forgive me for that. I am back now and will start posting again! :)
