Honestly speaking, it’s really hard to tell as all the models are great and really Value For Money. I am even more confused with FE46 and FE4000. They both are 12 megapixel but FE46 has 5x Optical zoom which is really good. But then again, FE4000 is a sleek, slim and has Lithium Ion battery. Plus you get free binoculars with it. And the price difference is just of Rs.500!

So choose your pick wisely and carefully. Don’t miss the opportunity if you really were going to purchase a cam in near future.

Since  many days my visitors have been asking me to come up with a series of posts on ‘How to create your own site?’. After convincing myself to start the series of long posts and ass-paining sessions, I found that it was really hard to write series of such posts in a simple and easy way. So I thought why not write a whole tutorial about the same!

Finally after some 10 hours of staring at my boring laptop screen I was able to come up with this tutorial. This is a very basic tutorial and is aimed at people who are completely new to website making field. I would recommend this tutorial ebook to any and everyone who has ever thought of creating his own website.

Also note that everything given in this tutorial is available totally FREE so you won’t incur ANY costs at all when starting your won website. I tried to keep it simple and easy yet tried to cover key topics that are necessary for a newbie to know.

The graph shows Japan having the highest broadband speed of 61mbps on average at the cost of $0.27 per mbps. While U.S. has an average speed of 4.8mbps costing $3.33 per mbps. India of course, stands no where in the list. But if its speed were to be measured I am sure India will have average speed of not more than 115kbps (that too unreliable) while a 1mbps unlimited connection costs about Rs.1600 or about $34 per mbps in India making it one of the costliest and slowest country when it comes to broadband. And still BSNL advertises India having lightning fast speed!

STEP 1:

Open command Prompt and type “powercfg -ENERGY” without quotes as shown in the picture below and then press ENTER.

STEP 2:

Wait for 60 secs and a report will be generated. That’s it! Yes that’s it. Nothing else! The location of the report will be given in the command prompt window itself as shown below.

STEP 3:

Open the report from the location and scroll down to ‘Battery Information’ section. Check the screenshot below for help. Calculate your battery life using: (Last Full Charge / Design Capacity) * 100

Before you start your blog

1. Decide topic for your blog.
2. Selecting a domain for your blog. (Domain is name for your site)
3. Selecting domain registrar. I recommend Name.com
4. Selecting the best web hosting. (Explained later below)
5. Good theme
6. DEDICATION! (Most important thing)

1. Deciding on Topic

While starting for the first time, keep the topic that interests you. May be your favourite sport, passion, hobby or  just life in general. Whatever the topic you choose, just keep it easy, simple and focused.

2. Selecting Domain

Selecting a good domain is a lot important. The domain should be catchy, easy to remember and descriptive. (In case you don’t know what domain is, it is the name for your site!)

3. Domain Registrar

Domain registrar is a provider of domain to you. You can register domain names from them. Popular names include GoDaddy.com, Name.com, Namecheap.com , Dynadot.com and so on. I would recommend you Name.com. You can pay using credit card or paypal whichever you like.

4. Selecting Hosting

Web Hosting is a place on the internet where you will store files for your site. You will then use your domain name to point to this space address where all your site files will be stored along with the database.  Most popular hosting is cPanel web hosting as it’s quite user friendly in terms of GUI. Most of the hosts provide cPanel hosting but still note this before signing for a web host.

5. Good theme

I would recommend you use wordpress initially as it’s the most popular blogging platform and easiest yet effective to work with. But choosing wordpress is not enough. You must select a good theme that describes your site’s theme to the users. If needed, go for premium wordpress themes but don’t compromise on the look. It’s the first thing that your readers notice and as you, first impression is the last impression!

6. DEDICATION

After you start a new blog, remember one thumb rule – ‘Don’t expect even a handful of visitors for first few month!’ But still keep posting fresh articles and keep promoting your blog. You might have to do this for a few days, weeks or months. For some people it’s easly while for most others it takes time. Whatever might be the duration don’t give up! This is the most important thing of all. Eventually your efforts WILL bore fruits for sure.

After so many days and suggestions finally Google is changing they way we work with adsense. A new intereface of Google adsense is being launched soon and the invitations for the same has been sent to a few beta testers already.  Google revelead this at the recently held conference in New York.

The new Google Adsense interface will be different mainly in three aspects:

1. More Details Reports

The daily reports that you can see now will be more detailed and will have even more stats. Also they will not be available in graphical version. This will be on the lines of analytics which we already use. A glimpse of what it might look like:

2. More Control Over ADs

New Adsense offers (at least they say) more control over the ADs that appear on your site. It gives you more flexibility to manage the  ADs to be displayed on your sites.

3. Manging Account (The part I liked most)

The new Intereface is said to be easy for users to manage common account related tasks like editing bulk AD units simultaneously. Better tips to help understand everything related to management.

The new Adsense is rolled out in English, Spanish, French, German and many other languges. More invitations are expected to be sent to publishers in the coming weeks and months. Of course it will take a lot of time until everyone of us gets the new look and feel but at least you now know what’s around the corner.

Ebay India has finally started Debit Card payments for online payments. So now those of you who didn’t have credit cards or didn’t want to use one, can safely use your debit card for making the payment. What’s more, the ‘Deal of the Week’ on ebay has really good prices on few products listed on the homepage and if you happen to be in need of one of those then wait no longer. I can assure you that you cannot get it at a lower cost than mentioned there which includes free shipping and inclusive of all other charges as well.

Finally, ebay understood Indian customer’s needs and acted on it. Also you can make use of the discount coupons that ebay send ocassionally to every registered user and get additional discount. You can get from 5% to uptto 15% discout using those vouchers. I always refrained myself from making any purchase from ebay before this debit card payment thingy was accepted. But now I have bought 3 items from ebay and sold over 14 items just in a span of one month!

Just a small advice is, be careful when you make purchases from someone who has zero feedback. Also, people with large feedback also need not necessarily be good. I have heard many such cases all over the forums and blogs. So all in all, just think while you make the purchase

Audio Boo, is actually a sound sharing website where you can post sound recording and clips directly from your iPhone. The site was primarily launched for iPhones only but now supports many phones including landlines. You can also comment on the recordings posted on the site. The site currently allows ‘boos’ of about 5 minutes in length. Like twitter you can share-follow ‘boos’.

Seems like this is bridge between YouTube and Twitter. YouTube has audio as well video while twitter has just words. Audi Boo has only audio/ words in sound Give it a try and post here  your views on this new idea!
