Honestly speaking, it’s really hard to tell as all the models are great and really Value For Money. I am even more confused with FE46 and FE4000. They both are 12 megapixel but FE46 has 5x Optical zoom which is really good. But then again, FE4000 is a sleek, slim and has Lithium Ion battery. Plus you get free binoculars with it. And the price difference is just of Rs.500!

So choose your pick wisely and carefully. Don’t miss the opportunity if you really were going to purchase a cam in near future.

People are still a lot crazy about the iPhones but they are pretty much out of the reach of most of the people due to the high price tag they carry. Apple iPhone 3G costs about $99 in U.S. if you go for a 2 year contract while 3GS costs about $199.

People are still a lot crazy about the iPhones but they are pretty much out of the reach of most of the people due to the high price tag they carry. Apple iPhone 3G costs about $99 in U.S. if you go for a 2 year contract while 3GS costs about $199. The price initially looks cheap but if you calculate the 2 year contract fees, which has $30/month data plan as mandatory charges for 2 years, it works out pretty costly in the end. After 2 years the same iPhone 3G will cost you about $819! That’s an insanely high price. So in short iPhone isn’t cheap anywhere in the world but it just made to look so. Apple iPhone 3G costs about Rs.31k in India which is locked with Airtel or Vodafone as they are the only two service providers who sells iPhones officially while 3GS costs somewhere around 45k. However, you can get an unlocked one for about the same price on ebay as well. All these iPhones on ebay are unlocked and are ready to use with any network.

What’s interesting is that none of the unlocked iPhones come with warranty. Hence even if you bought one which is sealed packed and you got bill for that, it’s useless if you were to claim warranty for that. Even if you were you were to buy the ones that are locked with Airtel or Vodafone, they provide only 60 days of warranty. So in short, warranty on iPhone is just not available in India.

Anyways, coming to the point. I am not saying you not to get the iPhone. All I wanted to say is, if you want to get an iPhone you can get them cheap in two ways:

1. Get a Grey Market iPhone.

It will be new and even sealed packed in some cases and at a much lower price. There are lot of such iPhones going on ebay.in for as low as Rs.22.5k for a 3G and 34k for 3GS. All of them are sold under ‘Used for 25 days but like new’ or such descriptions as selling grey market phones is not legal. You can just contact the seller there and clear your doubts.

Advantages of Grey Market iPhones:

1. They are already unlocked with latest OS.
2. Comes with pre-installed apps as well.
3. Comes with a price tag that is at least less by 25%.

2. Get a Used iPhone and Get Cosmetic Changes Done.

Another good option is get a used 3G or 3GS for dirt cheap price from places like ebay. Just make sure they don’t have any problems with screen digitizer and never been opened. Get a iPhone panel from ebay again and get it changed at a mobile repair shop. Complete iPhone housing costs anywhere around Rs.1ooo to Rs.1500. And you can have a brand new like iPhone at a dirt cheap price. (This cannot be done with 2G’s as they come with metallic body and metallic panel is not available in India)

Lynx-India is a quite popular site and in fact even I had blogged about it long ago here(post removed now) when I found out they accept paypal and have some really good deals. I spread the name among my friends too! But not ANYMORE. The recent experience that I have had with them is enough!

Amarbir, who is from chandigarh is the owner of Lynx India and you might have seen him at various forums as well by username Amarbir [Chandigarh]. You might call this post as a personal revenge but my main aim is to warn people about how exactly lynx-India is, when you have some problems with them and how Amarbir works and thus rectify my mistake that I had done by referring people once to his site!

If you happen to purchase anything from Lynx-India, pray that everything goes smoothly. If it doesn’t forget your money and don’t call Amarbir. The price that you might have to pay by calling him would be paid by losing your self respect and much more. I have never seen a rude person than him in my life ever! (I don’t want to post exactly what happened with me as it would get too dirty.)

This post is a warning to all those people who either haven’t ever bought from him or have bought but never had any problems with the deal. My advice would be – Go buy from your local dealer for few extra bucks!

To confirm this, just check at the snapshot below. It’s posted at Lynx-India.com site on the first page itself and also check a this link which I found on googling. (Read comments there)

UPDATE:

Seems like Amarbir finally has removed the notice I uploaded above. But WTH it’s still a fun and proof of how Mr. Amarbir and Lynx-India actually works

Ebay India has finally started Debit Card payments for online payments. So now those of you who didn’t have credit cards or didn’t want to use one, can safely use your debit card for making the payment. What’s more, the ‘Deal of the Week’ on ebay has really good prices on few products listed on the homepage and if you happen to be in need of one of those then wait no longer. I can assure you that you cannot get it at a lower cost than mentioned there which includes free shipping and inclusive of all other charges as well.

Finally, ebay understood Indian customer’s needs and acted on it. Also you can make use of the discount coupons that ebay send ocassionally to every registered user and get additional discount. You can get from 5% to uptto 15% discout using those vouchers. I always refrained myself from making any purchase from ebay before this debit card payment thingy was accepted. But now I have bought 3 items from ebay and sold over 14 items just in a span of one month!

Just a small advice is, be careful when you make purchases from someone who has zero feedback. Also, people with large feedback also need not necessarily be good. I have heard many such cases all over the forums and blogs. So all in all, just think while you make the purchase
